Select the root .tex file: the file that sets up the document and includes its chapters. The app follows active \input, \include, and figure references, renames figures in document order, and creates a portable project copy with updated paths. For a multi-file project, approve access to the folder containing the root document.

Yes. All files are processed locally and your manuscripts, bibliographies, and figures are never uploaded. You can optionally enable online lookup for journal names missing from the built-in list; only the unmatched journal name is sent, and formatting continues normally when offline.

The app supports LaTeX manuscript files (.tex) and bibliography files (.bib and .bbl). It can organize common image formats used by LaTeX, including PDF, EPS, PNG, and JPG, as well as TeX drawing sources loaded as figures.

Check that you selected the root document, the referenced file exists, and its spelling, extension, and letter case match. A relative path is interpreted from the TeX source that contains the reference. Also make sure the reference is active rather than inside a comment and that the app has access to the project folder.

Yes. When figure content loads a TeX drawing with \input, Figure Organizer and Submission Packager treat that drawing as a figure dependency. When figure renaming is enabled, the exported drawing receives an ordered figure name. Its surrounding reference is updated to the exported path.

Both routes prepare the same project-aware submission package. Folder export writes the result to a directory you choose, while ZIP export creates an archive ready for upload. Included TeX sources, figures, bibliography files, and discovered local support assets are kept in the package.

A document that declares backend=biber must use Biber rather than BibTeX. In TeXShop, open the root main.tex, select pdflatexmk as the engine, and typeset. Latexmk will run the required LaTeX and Biber passes automatically.

Only a journal name that was not matched by the app's built-in list is sent to the lookup service. Your bibliography file, authors, titles, and other fields remain on your Mac. Turn the option off to keep journal formatting fully offline.

Open the Premium window and select Restore while signed into the same Apple Account that made the purchase. Restoring does not charge you again. Previous paid App Store customers are also checked for grandfathered unlimited access.
