BibKit Privacy Policy

BibKit is a macOS app for managing BibTeX references and PDFs. BibKit stores your citation library locally on your Mac in the app's Application Support folder.

BibKit does not sell personal data and does not require an account for the local citation library. The app does not collect analytics from inside the macOS app.

When you choose online metadata lookup, BibKit may send citation identifiers or citation text such as DOI, arXiv, HAL, title, author, or journal details to metadata services including CrossRef, OpenAlex, arXiv, and HAL so those services can return citation metadata.

If you subscribe to BibKit, purchases, renewals, cancellations, and subscription entitlements are handled by Apple StoreKit and your Apple Account. BibKit receives subscription entitlement status from Apple, not your full payment card details.
